汉坦病毒（Hantaan virus，HV）属于布尼亚病毒科（Bunyaviridae）的汉坦病毒属（Orthohantavirus）。其病毒颗粒呈圆形或卵圆形，直径平均约为122nm（范围75~210nm）。病毒外层为包膜，表面覆盖由Gn和Gc包膜糖蛋白（GP）组成的突起。包膜内含有病毒的核酸、核蛋白（Nucleoprotein，N）和RNA聚合酶构成的核衣壳。汉坦病毒的基因组为单股负链RNA，分为长（L）、中（M）、短（S）三个节段，分别编码RNA依赖的RNA聚合酶（RNA polymerase，RNAP）、糖蛋白N（Gn，也称为G1）、糖蛋白C（Gc，也称为G2）和核蛋白N。
